C. H. R. Heins was the overseer of the B.O.W. (public works) murdered at Lhong in the sub-division Lho’ Nga on the morning of 13 July 1914 by seven persons of that landschap.
A Chinese mason was severely wounded in the same attack; the murderers fled to the mountains with two of the overseer’s sporting guns and ammunition. That same morning the controleur of Lho’ Nga left overland for Lhong with two groups, while H. N. A. Swart himself went by the s.s. Dog in the afternoon, and two further groups went to Leupoeëng to prevent the affair spreading. The murder was for Swart “a very sharp and painful disappointment indeed — after the attack at Daja, now murder and band-formation in quiet Groot Atjeh as well.”
