The Zuid-Perlak Petroleum-Mij — the South-Perlak Petroleum Maatschappij — was the befaamde — famous — oil-company whose terrains lie at Rantau Pandjang in the landschap of Peureula (Perlak) in the onderafdeeling Langsa of the afdeeling Oostkust van Atjeh, alongside the terrains of the Perlak Petroleum-Mij exploited by the Bataafsche Petroleum-Mij. Broersma mentions the Zuid-Perlak Petroleum-Mij in passing as the befaamde company whose terrains lie at Rantau Pandjang, without giving further details of its operation.

Author Joh. Langhout records the Zuid Perlak Maatschappij as the holder of the foremost of the province’s remaining mineral concessions when — under Governor Swart, whose government explored for petroleum in Peusangan without exploitation following — the province’s mineral concessions were not extended, “hetwelk te betreuren viel” (“which was to be deplored”). The Zuid Perlak concession was exploited “by de Koninklijke” — the Koninklijke Petroleum Maatschappij — and some years before 1923 the Zuid Perlak Maatschappij transferred its works to the Bataafsche Petroleum Maatschappij, which already exploited other Perlak terrains. The Zuid-Perlak enterprise stands in Langhout’s chapter as part of the petroleum complex which he reckoned “one of the foremost factors of the pacification of this part of the coast tract” (see Bataafsche Petroleum Maatschappij).
