Governor Sarimin’s visit to Atjeh took place in February 1950, when the acting governor of North Sumatra, Sarimin Reksodihardjo, made an official inspection visit to Atjeh accompanied by some ten civil servants and journalists.

The governor’s first impressions of Atjeh were favourable: politically there were no longer any difficulties, though economically there were. The roads urgently needed improvement. The visit demonstrated the new provincial administration’s engagement with the Atjeh region following the incorporation of Atjeh into the province of North Sumatra.
