A tradition of unorthodox, pantheistic mysticism descended from the teachings of Hamzah Pansuri, propagated in Pidie by Teungku Teureubue and his successor Teungku Gade, and on the West Coast by Habib Seunagan and his successor Teungku di Kreueng, in defiance of repeated orthodox persecution.
