A heretical mystic of the West Coast south of Meulaboh, known earlier as Teungku Peunado. He is said to have disseminated Hamzah Pansuri’s pantheistic teaching, interpreted the Quran unorthodoxly, and used the confession “There is no God but Allah, this Habib is truly the body of the Prophet.” He died some years before Hurgronje’s writing and was succeeded by Teungku di Kreueng.
