Swart left Atjeh in the early morning of 22 September 1918. De Atjehcourant reported:

The Government published the Maandverslagen, quoted extensively throughout du Croo’s book, and the Nieuwsblad voor het Gouvernement Atjeh en Onderhoorigheden, known as De Atjehcourant, which reported Swart’s departure in September 1918.
