The year of the birth of Muḥammad al-ʿAddārs at Tarim in South Arabia. Al-ʿAddārs, the spiritual grandfather of Nūruddīn ar-Rānīrī through the latter’s shaikh Sayyid ʿUmar Bā Shaybān, was to come to Gudjarāt at the age of nineteen, succeeding his famous grandfather as religious teacher first at Ahmadabad and later at Surat, where he died in 1620.
