Tjot-Basetoel was a Dutch military post on the communication line through the XXII Moekims of Groot-Atjeh. The post was evacuated on 13 January 1885 as part of the concentration strategy.
Location
Tjot-Basetoel was situated on the communication line extending eastward from Lambaroe, between Samagani and Long-Lemoh.
Pre-Concentration Status
Tjot-Basetoel was one of the posts established during the expeditions of General van der Heyden in 1878–1879. The post formed part of the chain of isolated positions along the 121-palen line.
Evacuation
Tjot-Basetoel was evacuated on 13 January 1885 along with the other posts on the communication line.
Significance
The evacuation of Tjot-Basetoel was part of the systematic withdrawal from the extended communication line that characterized the concentration strategy.
