Samagani was a Dutch military post on the communication line through the XXII Moekims of Groot-Atjeh. The post was evacuated on 13 January 1885 as part of the concentration strategy.
Location
Samagani was situated on the communication line extending eastward from Lambaroe, between Lepong-Ara and Tjot-Basetoel.
Pre-Concentration Status
Samagani was one of the posts established during the expeditions of General van der Heyden in 1878–1879. The post was added to the line to improve communications and support.
Evacuation
Samagani was evacuated on 13 January 1885 along with the other posts on the communication line.
Significance
The evacuation of Samagani was part of the systematic withdrawal from the extended communication line that characterized the concentration strategy.
