Lepong-Ara was a Dutch military post on the communication line through the XXII Moekims of Groot-Atjeh. The post was evacuated on 13 January 1885 as part of the concentration strategy.

Location

Lepong-Ara was situated on the communication line extending eastward from Lambaroe, between Anagaloeng and Samagani.

Pre-Concentration Status

Lepong-Ara was one of the posts established during the expeditions of General van der Heyden in 18781879. The post was part of the chain of isolated positions along the extended line.

Evacuation

Lepong-Ara was evacuated on 13 January 1885 along with the other posts on the communication line.

Significance

The evacuation of Lepong-Ara was part of the systematic withdrawal from the extended communication line that characterized the concentration strategy.
