Peladjoe (Peladoe) is a side‑branch of the Soensang River near Palembang that was fortified by enemy forces during the 1821 Dutch expedition. The Dutch fleet found the river and its tributary blocked by large piles and defended by four batteries, while the island of Gombora was also fortified (page 94).
Defensive Works
The obstruction of the Peladjoe exemplified the tactical challenges faced by Dutch forces attempting to penetrate the interior of the Aceh‑influenced region.
