Maurice Henri du Croo — writing as M. H. du Croo, Kolonel K.N.I.L. b.d. — was the Dutch colonial army officer, administrator and author who wrote Generaal Swart, Pacificator van Atjeh (Maastricht: N.V. Leiter-Nypels, 1943), the biography of H. N. A. Swart, with the collaboration of H. J. Schmidt and a foreword by lieutenant-general G. K. Dijkstra. With Schmidt he had earlier written *[[Military Constabulary in Atjeh (1943)|Military Constabulary in Atjeh (1943), to which the Swart biography repeatedly refers for episodes it does not narrate at length.

1943 was the year of publication, at Maastricht by N.V. Leiter-Nypels, of Generaal Swart, Pacificator van Atjeh by M. H. du Croo with the collaboration of H. J. Schmidt and a foreword by G. K. Dijkstra; and of Marechaussee in Atjeh by Schmidt and du Croo.

Generaal Swart, Pacificator van Atjeh was the biography of the Dutch lieutenant-general and Civil and Military Governor of Atjeh en Onderhoorigheden H. N. A. Swart, written by M. H. du Croo, Kolonel K.N.I.L. b.d., with the collaboration of H. J. Schmidt, Kolonel tit. K.N.I.L. b.d., with a foreword by His Excellency lieutenant-general K.N.I.L. b.d. G. K. Dijkstra, and published at Maastricht by N.V. Leiter-Nypels in 1943. Its title-page motto was “For courage, conduct, loyalty” — the device of the Militaire Willemsorde.
