Lam Teumet is a place in the onderafdeeling Seulimeum of the afdeeling Groot-Atjeh, proposed as the site of a central institution for the treatment of lunatics (krankzinnigen-inrichting) in Atjeh. The governor of Atjeh had proposed to build such a central institution at Lam Teumet, but for the sake of economy the government did not consent. Recently, however, the government has approved that the former military hospital at Sabang be fitted up for the admission of lunatics who require institutional care. The proposal for Lam Teumet is one of the casualties of the retrenchment of the early civilian period.
