Ketappen Doem was an Acehnese village settlement, agricultural crossing, and fortified earthwork situated in the lowlands near Kotta Radja in the Aceh Sultanate, modern Banda Aceh, Indonesia.
Combat in 1875-1876
During the military operations of 1875 and 1876, Ketappen Doem served as a defensive redoubt for Acehnese fighters opposing Dutch patrols between Pekan Badak and the interior mukims.
Troops under General J. L. J. H. Pel engaged in repeated skirmishes around Ketappen Doem during the opening phase of General Pel’s Campaign in Aceh in December 1875.
