Gle Kambing (also printed Glé-Kambing) was a place in the XXII Moekims of Groot-Atjeh: the Atjehnese post opposite the missigit of Indrapoeri, at which the troops of generaal van der Heyden came up on 24 March 1879 and from which the missigit was taken by stratagem that day (see Campaign against the XXII Moekims (1879)). Thereafter it was kept as a Dutch fortification. The post was one of the fortifications maintained by the Dutch outside the new line that were returned to the field at the execution of the concentration: it was evacuated between 5 and 14 January 1885, nearly a month and a half before the clearing of the so-called free strip was finished (see Completion of the concentrated position (March 1885)).
