Geudong was the place on the Pasè-rivier where captain H. N. A. Swart crossed the flooded river on 21 June 1899 to support the marechaussée.
Halted by the greatly swollen river and under heavy fire at short range, Swart at once took energetic measures for a crossing, went over, gathered seventeen soldiers on the right bank and drove the superior enemy from his position to the south by a flank attack with heavy loss, holding the captured position until further troops arrived. The action formed the citation for his promotion to Knight 3rd Class of the Militaire Willemsorde.
