Djambo Ajé was the river on whose upper course Pang Nanggròë set the whole of Keureutòë in movement after 1905, working with Tgk. Sjeh di Paja Bakong, Tgk. di Mata Ië and Tgk. di Barat.
In March 1910 Pang Nanggròë was driven out of “the safe paja (swamp) of the Djambo Ajé”; on 30 July he was surprised again and escaped again; and on 26 September he was killed in the Paja Tjitjém.
