Blang was a Dutch military post in the southern section of the geconcentreerde stelling (concentrated position) in Groot-Atjeh. The post was established on 26 January 1885.

Blang helped complete the southern section of the perimeter, providing additional coverage between Ketapan-Doea and Lamdjamoe.

Verstege names Blang the last but one of the eighteen semi-permanently built posts of the line of 1885 as enumerated in the Koloniaal Verslag (see Postenlinie): “Kota-Pohama, Pakan-Kroeng-Tjoet, Lamjong, Boekit-Karang, Roempit, Tjot-Iri, Wachthuis aan de Lingkar, Lampermej, Siroen, Lambaroe, Wachthuis Lamsajoen, Lamrong, Lampeneroet, Wachthuis Lamara, Ketapan-Doewa, Blang, Landjame en Lamtih” (see Completion of the concentrated position (March 1885)).
