W. V. Rhemrev was a Dutch military officer and Lieutenant in the Korps Maréchaussée.

Military Career and Service in Aceh

Educated at Gymnasium Willem III and the Royal Military Academy (KMA) in Breda, Rhemrev served in Aceh and earned an Honourable Mention on the Karo Plateau in 1904. In 1905, he was severely wounded while suppressing rebellion following the Gayo and Alas Lands Expedition of 1904, earning the Knight 4th Class Military William Order (M.W.O.). In 1926, he successfully suppressed the communist uprising on the West Coast of Sumatra, receiving Officer in the Order of Oranje-Nassau with Swords.
