W. H. Loeb was a Dutch non-commissioned officer and Sergeant Brigade Commander in the Korps Maréchaussée.
Military Career and Service in Aceh
Born in 1881, Loeb enlisted in 1899 and served in campaigns across Jambi (1901–1904), Central Sumatra (1903–1907), and Aceh (1906–1910, 1911–1914). On 23 February 1917, he was awarded the Knight 4th Class Military William Order (M.W.O.) for extraordinary combat leadership.
