Tjhèh Saman (Teungkoe Tjhēh Saman, Teungkoe Tjhi’ di Tirò, Teungkoe Tirò) was a Oelama, leader of organised Acehnese resistance; second Teungkoe Tirò mentioned in Jongejan’s Land en Volk van Atjeh Vroeger en Nu in connection with Aceh. Relative who inherited the title of Teungkoe Tirò in 1886 after Teungkoe Moehamat Anim’s death.

Relative who inherited the title of Teungkoe Tirò in 1886 after Teungkoe Moehamat Anim’s death. Played a very great role in organising the war. Deep faith and strong character gave him enormous influence. Bound people to him and transmitted his dynamic force. Had small well-hidden fortifications constructed all around the Dutch line, from which Dutch troops were harassed. Died 1890; title passed to his son Ma’Anim.

Tjhèh Saman (Teungkoe Tjhēh Saman, Teungkoe Tjhi’ di Tirò, Teungkoe Tirò) appears in Jongejan’s account as one of the figures shaping the history of Aceh during the period covered by the book.
