Tādj al‑Dīn b. Hinna was a devout wezier (religious scholar) and close confidant of Sultan Malik al‑Zahir Baihars of the Sultanate of Acheh. The source records that he was a great admirer of the Prophet and an avid collector of relics, having established a large collection and a personal ribāt in Cairo. After hearing al‑Būsīrī’s Burda, he vowed to listen to the poem barefoot and with an uncovered head, a practice that later spread among Acehnese religious circles.
Role in Disseminating the Burda
His enthusiastic endorsement of the Burda contributed to its prestige in Aceh, where the poem was regarded as a source of divine favor and protection for the sultanate’s elite.
