The central villain of the Hikayat Malem Dagang, represented as a son of the Raja of Malacca who was granted freehold territory in Acheh by Sultan Eseukanda Muda despite remaining non-Muslim. Proving ungrateful, he attacked Acehnese fishermen and plotted Acheh’s destruction, but was captured alive by Malem Dagang, chained by his own brother Raja Raden, and ultimately killed only by his own revealed secret — molten lead poured into his nose and mouth. He became the type of the “kaphe Ulanda” (Dutch infidel) in Acehnese consciousness.
