G. K. Dijkstra — later Lieutenant-General K.N.I.L. b.d. — was the officer who served under H. N. A. Swart in Borneo, Celebes and Atjeh, took over the administration of Pidië from major Schröder in 1908, and in 1943 wrote the foreword to M. H. du Croo’s Generaal Swart, Pacificator van Atjeh. Swart placed him, with W. B. J. A. Scheepens and H. J. Schmidt, among the three collaborators he ranked above the rest.

He took over the government of Pidië from major Schröder in 1908, having previously served under Swart in Borneo and Celebes. Swart placed him at Sigli, the most important troop command on the north coast, before Scheepens.
From Pidië
In this district, “the cradle of the irreconcilable religious leaders, the Tirò Teungkoes,” the oelama party took heavy blows in 1908, the Tirò band having fled from Geumpang to Pidië at the end of 1907 before the patrols of H. J. Schmidt. Captain G. K. Dijkstra took over the administration from major Schröder. On 8 February 1908 Schmidt surprised the band’s hiding-place on the kr. Meu’, where five of the principal Teungkoes fell.
