Salim b. Samir was a Malay author whose work Safinat al-nadja’ (“The Ship of Salvation”) was printed in Singapore in 1295/1878. The text was widely read in the Indonesian archipelago, including Aceh, and formed part of the literary milieu in which the Bad’ al-Amali translation was produced.
Publication History
The edition printed in Singapore (the year 1295/1878) became a popular devotional work throughout the region, influencing later Acehnese religious literature.
