Account in du Croo’s Generaal Swart (1943)
From Langsa
Then I went at once by tram with Colijn eastward as far as Langsa, to get an impression for myself. The financial prosperity of the sub-division treasuries of Tamiang and Langsa was founded on the estate area created on the east coast after 1910. In 1917 an Acehnese in a fit of religious mania attacked Messrs Jahnke and Roberecht at Langsa; Jahnke died of his injury.
