Raja of Pedir was the sovereign indigenous ruler (radja) of the historical coastal kingdom of Pedir (modern Pidie Regency) on the northeast coast of Sumatra during the Aceh War.
Negotiations in 1874
In January 1874, during the Second Aceh Expedition, the Raja of Pedir initiated diplomatic contacts with General J. van Swieten. As recorded in official telegrams from 6 January and 2 February 1874 (General van Swieten War Telegrams), the raja expressed his desire to return to Pedir and negotiate a peace treaty with the Dutch East Indies Government.
