Penghoeloe Koeala was een zekeren Penghoeloe Koeala, een Gajò uit Leuboe Sigeunab, die ook alweer stood in an odour of sanctity, who set on foot the religious movement at Serbödjadi in December 1917.
The gezaghebber of Lököp went with the chiefs and a bevolkingspatrouille to the gampong Semboeang, which the Penghoeloe had worked upon, but was killed in an encounter with the unwilling, five men of his patrol being wounded. The Penghoeloe then organised a three-day religious feast and associated himself with the guardian of a holy grave and the guardian’s daughter; the convinced withdrew; the patrols of the Kompeuni came; four fell, among them the guardian of the holy grave; the Penghoeloe was taken prisoner, “and then it was over.”
