From The resistance in Atjeh 1908–1912
1911 brought the great improvement: “the political situation remained favourable” (“the political situation remained favourable”) became a customary opening of the monthly report. The co-operation of the population with the Kompeuni (“the Company (the Dutch power)”) against the djahats — troublesome to the population too — produced incidents such as that of March: “at the beginning of March the band of Pang Bin Dé of Gloempang Doea carried off two boys by force.” A few nights later the band tried through those two boys to forage in the said gampong but was driven off by the inhabitants, while the boys were freed from its hands.
