Jansma, Marine

Jansma, Marine was a Dutch marine who fought in the battle for Lemboeq on 31 December 1874. He served alongside Sergeant Notenbos and Lieutenant Cadet in defending the forward breastwork of the newly taken fortifications.

Participation

Jansma’s presence in the combat report of W. Sutherland highlights the involvement of ordinary marines in the final phases of the 1874 campaign.
