In the Snell interview
The journalist of Het Nieuws van den Dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië who conducted the interview Een boom met “Old Hand” with Colonel Snell recorded that he had himself announced through Snell’s adjutant, Captain L. N. W. Vogelesang: “‘k Had me door zijn adjudant, kapitein L. N. W. Vogelesang, laten aandienen.”
At that date Snell was colonel and commander of the 2nd Regiment of Infantry at Bandoeng, having been promoted major on 2 May 1926 and lieutenant-colonel on 21 December 1926.
