Hendrik Christoffel was a Dutch military officer and Captain in the Korps Maréchaussée.
Military Career and Service in Aceh
Christoffel served as an Under-Lieutenant and Captain in the Marechaussee, receiving the Knight 3rd Class Military William Order (M.W.O.) in 1904. He gained fame for organizing specialized elite mobile pursuit detachments (Colonne Christoffel) that conducted relentless long-distance tracking of Acehnese guerrilla leaders in the deep jungle.
