Hādjdji Khalifa was an Acehnese scholar whose commentary on the Bad’ al-Amali appears in the edition edited by Flügel (IV:558 no 9524). The note attributes the composition of the poem to Siraj al-Din Abu Muhammad Ali ibn Uthman al-Ushi and provides a chronology of the work’s origin.
Contribution to Acehnese Manuscript Tradition
Khalifa’s marginal notes are preserved in a 16th‑century Acehnese manuscript that contains an interlinear Malay translation of the creed poem. His work illustrates the scholarly activity in Aceh that engaged with Arabic theological texts.
