Flügel was a 19th‑century European editor who compiled the edition of the Hādjdji Khalifa notes on the Bad’ al-Amali (published as IV:558 no 9524). His work made the Acehnese manuscript material accessible to Western scholars.
Editorial Work
Flügel’s edition includes the marginal commentary that attributes the creed poem to Siraj al-Din Abu Muhammad Ali ibn Uthman al-Ushi and provides a dating of the composition.
