Pursued Panglima Polém with Colijn and Breewer. Captured Teungkoe Poetrèë (wife of Pretendent-Sultan) in November 1902 at Gloempang Pajong. Captured 24 December 1902 the Sultan’s favorite and son at Lammeulo. Placed by Governor Swart as marechaussée-commandant at Pantonlaboe; acted with ‘unbending strictness’ against the population of the disorganised Keureutòë region that colluded with enemies of the government.

Significance

Christoffel (Captain Christoffel) appears in Jongejan’s account as one of the figures shaping the history of Aceh during the period covered by the book.
