C. J. J. Hogenboom was a Dutch civil servant who served as a member of the College of Delegates (College van Gedelegeerden) of the Negara Sumatera Timur (N.S.T.) and as a senior administrative member (hoofdbestuurslid) of the N.I.B.E.G. (the Dutch educational institution in the Indies). He was awarded a royal decoration by Royal Decision (Koninklijk Besluit) of 23 May 1950.
Activities
In June 1950, Hogenboom delivered a lecture before the J.C.J. world (the Dutch Christian trade union movement) on the then-precarious problem of education for Dutch children in Indonesia. He had been appointed a member of the N.S.T. College of Delegates in December 1948, and was also a former chairman of the Dutch Association (Nederl. Vereniging) on the East Coast.
On 4 June 1951, Hogenboom was appointed government commissioner (regeringscommissaris) of the Dutch colony in Brazil — the settlement known as Holambra.
