Baubé was a prominent rebellion leader operating in the Wikkie‑kreek region. Dutch reports from the 1760s note that his outpost, alongside that of Quacco, was retaken by colonial troops. Later, a Neger captain named Baubé was captured by Lieutenant‑Colonel Douglas, though his wife was not.
