Accabré was a rebel bende (gang) leader who opposed Atta and commanded a force of 200–300 Guango‑Negers (cannibalistic African slaves) stationed behind the plantation Arendd. He fortified his position with bamboo spikes and prepared to resist Dutch incursions.

Conflict

Colonel De Salve planned an expedition against Accabré’s stronghold, assigning Major De Brauw to lead the attack.
