Abdul Karim Amrullah, better known as Hadji Rasul, was a renowned Minangkabau Islamic teacher whose life was chronicled by his son Hamka. He was celebrated for his role in promoting Arabic devotional poetry, including the Burda and other kasidas, within Minangkabau religious education.
