Vocational training opened at Sigli in 1935, initially teaching only metaalbewerking (metalworking). Houtbewerking (woodworking) added at start of 1937-1938 course. Graduates (abiturienten) find ready work at the Atjeh-tram workshop as fully qualified workers.
Significance
Sigli ambachtsleergang is recorded by Jongejan as part of the institutional landscape of Aceh.
