Sarikat Islam Agitation in Noordkust in 1918 and following years was political-religious movement taking wrong and dangerous direction in afdeeling Noordkust van Atjeh, leading to banishment of some younger heads.
Narrative
In the afdeeling Noordkust van Atjeh with her 3 underafdeelingen Lho Seumawe, Bireuen and Lho Soekon, after 1918 the Sarikat Islam movement showed fairly vigorous life. Traders, teachers of volksscholen, intellectuals said members and took part. Handelaars, onderwijzers van volksscholen zegden intellectueelen lid en namen deel. A head of Samalanga joined as move on political chessboard playing against influential Mbaharadja who also member Sarikat Islam thereby aiming keep landscape Plimbang. After consulting oelama (Islamic legal scholar) saying joining good deed formed department S.I. Public meetings even secret meetings. Broersma also notes in Lho Soekon south-eastern paja area population on low level heads backwardness may cause block. In paja area workings Sarikat Islam earlier affected.
