Erection of the gravestone of Sultan Iskandar II took place in 1641 in Acheh, with Nuruddin ar-Raniri acting together with a number of high court functionaries.
Voorhoeve uses this dated ceremonial role as firm evidence that Raniri was fully integrated into the Achehnese elite by the early 1640s, before his departure in 1644.
