The year 1945 was, in the Dutch staff history’s account (Deel VI, Hoofdstuk V), the year of the Japanese capitulation of 15 August 15 August 1945 and of Lt Onvlee’s November 1945 transfer to Bangkok, where the disposition of the vaandel (colours) of the Korps Maréchaussee was settled. The year 1945 is the staff history’s terminus ad quem of the Atjeh chapter’s narrative of the Dutch wartime presence in Atjeh.
