Road to connect North and West coasts of Aceh. From Meulaboh goes 60 km inland, then a gap of ~47 km (with a usable trace but needing engineering works). About 15 km before Geumpang connects to the already-completed section and the asweg (asphalt road). Eventually intended to be a valuable factor for lasting peace and order.
Significance
Transversaalweg (Noord-Westkust) is recorded by Jongejan as part of the geography and historical landscape of Aceh.
