In the Hikayat Malem Diwa: ‘Putroe Aloih in Nata (= Natal)’ — a real coastal place in West Sumatra turned into a romantic destination. Malem Diwa undertakes the journey to Nata with the aid of Dalikha and her heroic spouse Malem Panyang, and wins princess Aloih there. ‘Peuduka Lila, the king of that region, was compelled to succumb to the courage and magic power of the three.’ After various adventures the characters ‘all returned to Nata and from thence each went back to his own country.‘
