Geureudong (mountain) is a location in or related to Aceh described in Jongejan’s Land en Volk van Atjeh Vroeger en Nu. Volcanic complex north of Laoet Tawar; has two prominent peaks: the fully vegetated Glé-Geureudong and the bare still-active Boer Ni Tèlông.

Description

Volcanic complex north of Laoet Tawar; has two prominent peaks: the fully vegetated Glé-Geureudong and the bare still-active Boer Ni Tèlông. Volcanic material covers a very large area extending funnel-shaped from Laoet Tawar. Has the most extensive tufmantel of all Aceh volcanoes.

Significance

Geureudong is recorded by Jongejan as part of the geography and historical landscape of Aceh.
