Blangkejeren was/is a principal valley settlement and administrative hub of Gayo Lèuëos in the central highlands of Aceh (modern Gayo Lues Regency).
Historical Context and Role
Captured during the 1904 expedition, Blangkejeren was designated in 1910 as the official garrison post and headquarters for the 1st Division of the Korps Maréchaussée.
