Koopman, Vice‑Admiraal

Koopman, Vice‑Admiraal was the senior Dutch naval commander whose steamship Vice‑Admiraal Koopman transported the 4th marine company under Clifford Kooq van Breugel to Poeloe Bras on 20 April 1874 for lighthouse construction. The vessel returned to Java on 22 April and 26 April 1874 after delivering the troops.

Naval logistics

Koopman’s ship provided the logistical backbone for the Dutch marine operations along the Acehnese coast during the mid‑1870s.
