Teuku Mohammed Ali Samalanga was an Atjèhnese oelèëbalang who, in the early 1950s, led the Badan Keinsjafan Rakjat (B.K.R.), the association formed by the surviving oelèëbalang class of Atjeh to press for the reversal of the political gains made by the Poesa during the 1945–1946 social revolution.

Leadership of the Badan Keinsjafan Rakjat

Henri J. H. Alers’s Om een rode of groene Merdeka records that, once the new resident-coordinator Danubroto began attempting to restore oelèëbalang-class and non-Atjèhnese officials to posts held by the Poesa following Atjeh’s incorporation into the province of North Sumatra in 1951, the oelèëbalang class took fresh heart and organised itself under Teuku Mohammed Ali Samalanga’s leadership as the Badan Keinsjafan Rakjat. Its programme sought the abolition of the Madjelis Penimbang, the removal of Poesa members from the civil-service corps, and the holding of general elections — together amounting, in Alers’s reading, to an attempt to unwind the entire social revolution of 1946.
