Teukoe Tjhi Teunong was a Resistance leader; previously oelèëbalang of Keureutòë mentioned in Jongejan’s Land en Volk van Atjeh Vroeger en Nu in connection with Aceh. Was fusilleerd (executed by firing squad) in 1905.

Was fusilleerd (executed by firing squad) in 1905. His widow Tjoet Meuthia and ~6-year-old son were taken to the forest by his party; Pang Nanggròë married Tjoet Meuthia and the boy was proclaimed oelèëbalang of Keureutòë.

Significance

Teukoe Tjhi Teunong appears in Jongejan’s account as one of the figures shaping the history of Aceh during the period covered by the book.
